This work is an attempt to clarify that although the piano cycle Musical Toys (published in 1969) by Sofia Gubaidulina was originally composed for children, it presents a multidimensional and holistic artistic phenomenon. The aesthetic categories, as well as harmony and beauty, belong to the child's perception of reality. Gubaidulina seeks to reflect the honest, natural, and unpretentious reactions of a child in a musical way. A symbiosis of two different personalities of the composer, on one hand a philosopher, and on the other a child, enriches each childlike subject with a deeper philosophical meaning. My desired goal is not to express an idea, but to give voice to the spiritual visage of an experienced feeling.
