Later, it was also installed in passenger cars of the upper mid-range and luxury class. The first known V8 working engine was produced in 1904 by the French company Antoinette for use in aircraft, and the Cadillac L-Head engine from 1914 to 1935 is considered the first automotive V8 engine.
