Cutimed Sorbact Gel

Cutimed Sorbact Gel is a hydrogel-impregnated, germ-reducing wound dressing. It cleans the wound of debris and necrotic tissue and reduces the bacterial load in the wound based on the principle of hydrophobic interaction: the special Sorbact coating gives the product strong hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties. Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore bind irreversibly to the wound dressing. This reduces the bacterial load in the wound with each dressing change and creates optimal conditions for the natural wound healing process.

Cutimed Sorbact Gel offers special advantages:

• no known development of resistance in bacteria or fungi against Cutimed Sorbact.

• no killing of bacteria and fungi, thus no release of endotoxins and associated healing delays.

• unrestricted application duration throughout the treatment process.

• no known contraindications.

• no known allergy risks.

Cutimed Sorbact Gel consists of a compress made of acetate fibers impregnated with hydrogel and features a bacteria-binding coating.

Indications:
Cutimed Sorbact Gel is suitable for all unclean, contaminated, or infected wounds and is used for dry to mildly exuding wounds:

• chronic wounds (e.g., venous, arterial, or diabetic ulcers as well as pressure ulcers)

• postoperative wounds and wound dehiscences

• traumatic wounds

• wounds following the excision of fistulas and abscesses

• skin fungal infections

Dressing Change Interval:
Depending on the condition of the wound, a maximum of three days.
