Advanced Intelligent Personal Technologies (AIPTEK) is a firm that produces digital equipment. The company was founded in 1997 when it began producing a line of graphical tablets, which are used to transfer drawings to a computer. AIPTEK is based in Hsinchu, Taiwan. It was listed on January 14, 2003 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol 6225.
Today, AIPTEK produces many lines of digital cameras, digital video cameras and several other digital products that can perform multiple tasks.
Its largest line of products are its Pocket video cameras for which it was an early adopter. Peter Chen, founder of the company, claimed in 2007 presentation to the Pacific Basin Finance, Economics, Accounting, and Management PBFEAM conference that the company was the world's "#1 Pocket DV Brand" saying that it had achieved its success through its disruptive marketing plus a focus on BRIC and ASEAN markets.
