The BARTS story began in the summer of 1986, when Bart Koene sold his hand-sewn swim shorts on the beaches of St. Tropez. They proved to be a great success. One of the girls helping him wrapped a piece of fabric around her head to protect herself from the sun, and soon people were asking if they could buy this cool bandana. From that moment on, Bart started focusing on headwear. And just a few years later, the BARTS brand was born. Today, the brand has long since moved beyond headwear, and you'll find gloves, hats, scarves, headbands, ski masks and more from the winter accessories brand that was born on the beach.
