The Swiss start-up Koch & Gsell, founded in 2015, landed a coup in 2017: Under the Heimat brand, the company launched the world's first industrially produced cigarette in Switzerland with a mixture of tobacco and CBD hemp, thereby causing an international sensation. In the summer of 2019, Koch & Gsell launched Europe's first industrially produced pre-roll made of pure hemp in cigarette form. Since hemp cannot be processed like tobacco due to the resin it contains, these products represent a technical innovation. Koch & Gsell has patented the processes used to manufacture the products.
