Southern California barbershop "Hawleywood's Barbershop" is where Layrite pomades are made. Hawleywood's specializes in "real 1940s men's grooming" with classic haircuts and men's shaves. Its products include the world-famous hair care products, of course, but also shoe polishes. The successful hairdresser Ferd Luster Senior founded the company and initially began to offer his own manufactured products in his hairdressing salon. From time to time he began to supply other hairdressers as well. Then in 1957, with the support of his family, he founded "Luster Products, Inc." The small company grew rapidly and is now a global business. Today, the products are manufactured in Chicago.
