Alpro launches "Meal to go" drinkable meal on the market

Quick calories without lots of fat and crumbs: That's what Alpro promises for its new "Meal to go" line of drinkable meals.

Alpro is one of the best-known manufacturers of vegan milk alternatives such as oat and soya drinks. The company also offers plant-based yoghurt, desserts and cream. Now Alpro is expanding its range to include ready-to-drink meals. «Meal to go» is intended as a quick source of energy and nutrients for moments with a busy schedule and an empty stomach.

The 500-millilitre bottle is based on a combination of soya and oats. Each serving - which is intended to replace a whole meal - contains 20 grammes of plant-based protein and a mix of 26 vitamins and minerals. The recipe is supplemented with fibre and omega-3 fatty acids. A plus point for the health-conscious: Alpro completely dispenses with artificial sweeteners.

In Germany, «Meal to go» will be available from the end of January in four flavours: chocolate & banana, coffee-caramel, mango & passion fruit and vanilla. In Switzerland, you will only be able to enjoy the first two flavours for the time being. Alpro is probably testing the other two flavours on the larger German market first. We don't have the mini meals in our range, but you can order many other Alpro products in the Swiss shop.

The editorial team says: You can't really go wrong with Alpro. I really like both the milk alternatives and the yoghurts. However, I'm generally not a fan of drinkable meals: I always take enough time for a proper meal.
