Lego novelties in March: Technic, Disney, DC and more
From fast racing cars and blossoming magnolia branches to Sauron's helmet from "The Lord of the Rings". Lego is launching lots of new sets in March. Let me introduce you to a selection.
Whether for Technic or film fans, nature lovers or football enthusiasts: there should be something for everyone among the sets.
Lego Technic
Yellow motorbike: an introduction to technology
The yellow motorbike is the smallest of the three new Technic sets and is therefore ideal as an introduction to the world of technology. Children aged seven and over can gain their first experience with mechanics here. The model has functioning steering and a 3-piston motor that drives the rear wheel via a chain. The 151 parts make up a compact motorbike that hardly takes up any space with its dimensions of 8 × 16 × 6 centimetres.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon off-roader: on an adventure with a rubber duck
For more building fun, look no further than the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The set is aimed at children aged ten and over and consists of 723 parts, making it significantly more challenging. The vehicle comes fully equipped with «» : Steering and suspension work, the V6 engine is modelled in great detail. A rubber duck is also included as a gimmick. The «ducking» popular among Jeep fans is therefore also possible. There is also a removable surfboard and a bonnet that can be raised with a support. With dimensions of 15 × 26 × 14 centimetres, the Jeep requires significantly more shelf space, but also cuts a good figure, in my opinion.
BMW M4 GT3 EVO racing car for racing fans aged eleven and over
The «BMW M4 GT3 EVO racing car» for children aged eleven and over is the most elaborate set of the Technic novelties. A racing car in the legendary BMW livery with working steering and opening doors is created from 747 parts. The model is 8 centimetres high, 29 centimetres long and 13 centimetres wide. For those who also want to experience the racing experience digitally: the set comes with a code that can be used to unlock a version of the racer in the online video game «Asphalt Legends».
Lego Disney
In March, Lego is once again presenting some new products from the Disney world.
Nightmare flair with Sally's flower pot
From Tim Burton's «The Nightmare Before Christmas» comes «Sally's Flowerpot». The 346-piece set for children aged 9 and over includes the figures Sally and a black kitten. The real highlight is hidden: if you open the flower pot, you will discover the hidden kitchen with a kettle, table and basket. This is where Sally can brew her magic potions. When closed, the model is 27 centimetres high, 12 centimetres wide and 10 centimetres deep, making it easy to store on the shelf.
Kevin and Dug as Lego models for the first time
For the first time, Kevin the bird and Dug the dog from the Pixar film «Up» are being realised as Lego models. Children aged nine and over can build two figures from 628 pieces, which can assume different poses thanks to movable parts. Dug has a movable tail and can either sit or stand. Kevin's beak is movable and his wings can be spread. When fully assembled, the set is 29 centimetres high.
Winnie the Pooh for adults
Winnie the Pooh is aimed more at adult fans with its almost 1400 pieces. The detailed set includes a hinged honeypot, which conceals two rooms with the minifigures Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore. The head, ears, arms and hands of the large figure can be moved. The finished model is 23 centimetres tall and is perfect as a room decoration for anyone who grew up with the bear.
Micky Mouse Wonder House: For little ones aged 2 and over
At the other end of the age scale is the «Wonder House with Minnie and Pluto». The Duplo set for children aged two and over contains 87 pieces and offers lots of play incentives: a two-storey house with a slide, a garden with an insect hotel and a special door for Pluto. The figures Mickey, Minnie and Pluto are included, as is the Toodles computer. By turning the «interactive machine», children decide what the characters do next. At 64 centimetres wide, however, the house needs plenty of space on the play mat.
Lego DC
The new products from the world of DC are not so easy to keep track of. As Batman celebrates his anniversary, Lego is bringing out two vehicles
The «Batman vs. Superman» Batmobile comes in 220 pieces and includes the Batman minifigure in armour with fabric cape and a gold commemorative coin in the Cockpit. The shooter mounted at the front and the opening Cockpit make it fun to play with. The model is 5 centimetres high, 18 centimetres long and 10 centimetres wide.
The second Batmobile comes from the film «The Batman» from 2022. It contains 330 parts, is slightly smaller (18 × 8 centimetres base area) and also features a Batman minifigure with a fabric cape. A golden anniversary coin is also concealed under the opening bonnet. The roof of the vehicle is removable. Both sets contain a code that can be used to unlock the respective Batmobile in the video game «Lego Batman - Legacy of the Dark Knight». Both sets are suitable for children aged nine and over.
The Batman logo is also being released to mark Lego DC's 20th Batman anniversary. The 678-piece set for fans aged twelve and over depicts the legendary Bat-Signal and can be displayed on a stand or hung on the wall. Two minifigures are included: a golden one and a classic Batman figure that fits into the hinged hatch in the centre. The finished model is 23 centimetres high and 36 centimetres wide.
Lego Botanicals
The plastic flowers in the Botanicals series are also growing. The two sets are aimed at adults. The 686 pieces are used to create six sunflowers with different openings (one bud, three half-opened and two fully blossomed specimens), plus four eucalyptus branches. The largest flowers are 36 centimetres high. You'll have to decide for yourself whether the never-wilting sunflowers can actually replace real flowers as a gift.
Adults assemble the magnolia branches from 435 parts. In the end, the bouquet consists of five detailed branches that can be used to follow the development of the flower from bud to full splendour. Lego has allowed itself a few creative tricks: cupcake parts represent fruit leaves, frog elements form branch nodes and egg parts serve as buds. Together, the branches are 39 centimetres high, 44 centimetres wide and 11 centimetres deep. The arrangement is sure to stand out on a shelf or coffee table.
The new icons
The name of the Icon series says it all. Fans will find models with nostalgic or cultural references. This is also the case with the first set: «Sauron's helmet» from «Lord of the Rings» should be fun for fans of the films. The detailed replica of the helmet, including a stand, can be assembled from 538 pieces. Also included are a nameplate and a minifigure. The finished model is an impressive 33 centimetres high, 13 centimetres wide and 13 centimetres deep.

You can also take a look at the V10 engine. The minifigure of Michael Schumacher is standing on a winner's podium. The model is 7 centimetres high and 32 centimetres long.
The Ford Model T takes you back to the early days of automotive history. The 1060-piece set for adults features many functioning details: the roof can be folded back, the windscreen can be folded down and both sides of the bonnet can be opened. After raising the seat, you have a clear view of the petrol tank. Almost 30 centimetres long and 20 centimetres high, the model is an impressive room decoration.
