Ubisoft Forward: "Assassin's Creed Valhalla", "Far Cry 6", "Watch Dogs Legion" and more
Ubisoft Forward is the latest in a long line of E3 replacement events. In the livestream, you can see detailed gameplay from 'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' and 'Watch Dogs Legion'. The next Far Cry was also officially unveiled.
The Ubisoft Forward digital event took place amid a wave of accusations of sexual harassment and abuse in the games industry. In recent weeks, the company has been in the spotlight. After already having of these various incidents in the podcast digitec, Ubisoft also fired three senior managers a few days ago. As all this has happened at very short notice, Ubisoft has explained in a Twitter message that the latest events will not be able to be themed live. In the shadow of these events, Ubisoft has lit up its fireworks display of games, hoping not to distract everyone from the industry's problems.
"Assassin's Creed Valhalla"
Given that only a handful of games have been shown so far, you can finally look forward to some detailed information. In the latest assassination adventure, you and your henchmen plunder medieval England, build villages and storm fortresses. The game's premise seems to be even more geared towards role-playing games like The Witcher 3. What's new is that you can wield any weapon with both hands. This is even possible with shields. The historical facts are probably less important. When one of the developers announces in the trailer a research discovery that the Vikings weren't mindless barbarians at all, it comes as no surprise. Wow. Crazy.
"Assassin's Creed Valhalla" will be released on November 17 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X.
"Watch Dogs Legion"
Despite Ubisoft delaying the title by over a year, at first glance there were no significant differences in the trailer. What's more, as part of the Dedsec resistance movement in London, you can recruit any bystander and benefit from their unique skills. From the worker with the transport drone, to the hacker with the electronic spider, to the pub regular who's probably good at Drunken Fist Fight, different play styles were shown.
"Watch Dogs Legion" will be released on October 29 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X.
"Hyper Scape"
Simon and I have already featured the game in our digitec Plays. Following the close of technical testing, everyone can now try their luck in Ubisoft's new Battle Royale.
The beta is now open to all PC players.
"Tom Clancy's Elite Squad"
A new tactical game for Android and iOS will be released in a few weeks. Up to 70 different characters from the Tom Clancy universe await you in it. The most famous character is probably Sam Fisher. A clever mix of equipment, weapons and characters should lead you to success. A PVP mode is also included.
Releasing on 27 August for Android and iOS.
"Brawlhalla"
After consoles and PC, the 2D fighter is also coming to the smartphone. More than 50 legends like Rayman are waiting to fight for you.
Releasing as a free version on 6 August on Android and iOS.
"Far Cry 6"
To round things off, two trailers for the sixth Far Cry were shown. In it, you lead a guerrilla revolution to free the island nation of Yara from its dictator Antón Castillo. Castillo is played by the famous actor Giancarlo Esposito, who recently put the squeeze on Mandalorian. The story is very reminiscent of Far Cry 4. Gameplay-wise, fans shouldn't expect a revolution, but that hasn't diminished the fun so far.

Ubisoft has explained that this is not the last Ubisoft Forward Event. So there will still be gameplay for Far Cry 6.
