The thermistor motor protection relays CM-MSE and CM-MSS are used for controlling motors with PTC temperature sensors. The temperature sensors are embedded in the motor windings and measure the motor heating directly. This allows for immediate monitoring and evaluation of various operating conditions. Depending on the product, ATEX approvals for use in hazardous areas are also available. ABB also offers PTC temperature sensors C011 (according to DIN 44081), which can be embedded in motor windings.
