The thermal overload relay TF42 is a cost-effective electromechanical motor protection device for currents up to 38 A. In the event of an overload, it provides reliable thermal protection for the connected motors. TF42 is typically mounted on contactors AF09 to AF38 but can also be mounted separately on a DIN rail. If the motor current set on the current scale is exceeded, the relays trip via bimetallic elements, thereby changing the switching position of the two auxiliary contacts 1S/1Ö. A pre-connected contactor is then switched off. The relays allow for manual or automatic reset, feature test and stop functions, as well as a tripped indicator. The current scale of the devices is sealable. Accessories such as reset buttons and delay timers complement the range. TF42 has a tripping class of 10, is temperature compensated, sensitive to phase failure, and has ATEX certification.
