The thermal overload relay TF42-1.3 provides economical electromechanical motor protection for currents up to 38 A. In case of overload, it reliably protects the connected motors. TF42 relays are typically mounted on contactors AF09 to AF38 but can also be installed separately on DIN rails. When the set motor current is exceeded, the relays trip via bimetallic elements and change the switching position of the two auxiliary contacts 1S/1Ö, thereby disconnecting a pre-connected contactor.

The relays allow for manual or automatic resetting, feature a test and stop function, and have a tripping indicator. The current scale of the devices is sealable. Accessories such as reset buttons and delay timers complement the range. TF42 relays have a tripping class of 10, are temperature compensated, sensitive to phase failure, and have ATEX certification.
