The AK-980-U Magnetic Stripe Reader is the ideal solution for adding MSR capabilities to existing systems. The MSR head supports 500,000 read cycles and features a metal bottom at the MSR slot. MSR code transmission is achieved via keystroke emulation, eliminating the need for any special software driver, allowing the keyboard to be used with all operating systems. All settings, programmed headers, separators, and suffixes are stored in the reader, requiring no permanent software on the computer. It also includes programmable start and end sentinels, as well as a reading sequence. GUI software is provided for easy programming.
