If the new graphics card has one more 6+2-pin PCIe connector than the power supply offers, an appropriate adapter is needed to connect to the PCIe plug. A well-known adapter version often included with graphics cards converts two Molex connectors to PCIe. Akasa offers something more unique with this product. Here, the power for the graphics card comes from two power connectors of the power supply that would otherwise supply SATA drives. Two 15-pin SATA connectors are thus converted to 6+2-pin PCIe. This is especially practical when no Molex connectors are available.
