Most 5.25-inch slim and 1.8-inch drives feature special SATA connectors in a compact version. These are not compatible with standard connectors, which is why a corresponding adapter is necessary for their connection. This adapter combines data and power supply into a single connection. It terminates in a standard SATA socket and a 4-pin Molex for power supply.
