High school teacher August Schroeder has only one goal after the death of his seventeen-year-old son: he wants to undertake the trip they had planned together, now alone, to scatter some of his son's ashes in Yellowstone National Park. However, it soon seems that fate has other plans for him. His RV breaks down in the middle of nowhere, and the repair costs would blow his budget for this important journey. But then the owner of the auto repair shop makes him an offer: if he takes his two sons, Seth and Henry, on the trip, he will fix the RV for free. August is torn. The trip is important to him, but is it really a good idea to take the seven- and twelve-year-old boys along when he hasn't even begun to process the death of his own son? A road movie.
