Product details

The power supply can be provided either through a solar panel or a DC input. Control your application remotely via the Arduino Cloud and take advantage of a range of connectivity options suitable for the specific location. The Arduino Edge Control features built-in Bluetooth, and its connectivity can be expanded with 2G/3G/CatM1/NB-IoT modems, LoRa®, Sigfox, and WiFi by adding one of the MKR boards. The Arduino Edge Control is capable of connecting sensors and controlling actuators such as locking valves (commonly used in agriculture). Furthermore, it can monitor the entire process in real-time, thereby reducing production-related risks. The sensors particularly suited for smart agriculture can capture real-time data such as weather conditions, soil quality, plant growth, and more. Once the data is sent to the Arduino Cloud, the value chain transforms into valuable analytics that support business processes at various levels, such as crop yield, machine efficiency, employee performance, etc. The Arduino Edge Control can enhance crop quality and reduce human effort or errors by automating processes such as irrigation, fertilization, or pest control. Application example #1: Automated greenhouses. Automatic control of humidity and temperature to ensure the best environment for plant growth, minimize carbon emissions, and increase economic yield. The integration of an Arduino MKR GPS Shield enables optimal crop rotation planning and the collection of geodata. Application example #2: Hydroponics/Aquaponics. Since plants grow without soil in hydroponics, the conditions necessary for optimal growth must be carefully maintained.
