Audio-Technica's internationally patented dual magnet design principle is based on the design of a disc cutting head. Instead of a single large magnet, two magnets are arranged in a V-shape so that they precisely scan the right and left channels of the stereo groove edges. In this way, the VM system ensures excellent channel separation, an extended frequency response and first-class scanning performance.

Para-toroidal coils improve the efficiency of the generator and offer excellent linearity, as the continuous, symmetrical structure of the magnetic circuit means that only a small proportion of the magnetic flux can escape (leakage flux). In addition, the permeability of the magnetic cores is optimised by the laminated core structure.

The centre permalloy shielding plate enables effective separation of the left and right channels and suppresses electrical crosstalk by up to 40 dB. This corresponds approximately to the actual crosstalk values of a record groove.

Premium model with die-cast aluminium alloy housing that reduces unwanted vibrations and further improves the excellent sound quality of the high-end line contact styli. The diamond stylus with microlinear cut ensures better treble reproduction, less wear and less distortion than elliptical or conventional line styli.

The centre shielding plate between the left and right channels reduces crosstalk. The die-cast aluminium alloy housing reduces vibration and provides natural electrical shielding.
