Compact housing for reflective and diffuse scanning. Can be installed in hard-to-reach places where space is limited, yet the versatility of a cylindrical sensor is essential. Available with either NPN or PNP complementary outputs (single pole changeover). There is an option to use the normally open output as a normally closed alarm output. The alarm output activates when the sensor's excessive gain diminishes in low light conditions (drop to 1-1.5x). The load for both outputs must not exceed 150 mA. The fixed range units compare the reflection emitted by objects illuminated by the sensor's light beam with two differently aligned detectors in the sensor head. This allows the sensors to detect an object that is only briefly located directly in front of another object or background, with this distance potentially being just a few mm. Retro-reflective models feature a special lens that polarizes the emitted light and filters out unwanted reflections, enabling these sensors to be used in situations where retro-reflective scanning would otherwise not be possible. The AC devices are equipped with relays (single pole changeover) capable of switching up to 300 mA (continuous).
