This transformer complies with EN 61558 and is an ENEC 10 and UL recognized component. It is designed for PCB mounting, is short-circuit proof, and belongs to the VB and PT series. The primary voltage is 230V AC with a frequency range of 50 to 60Hz. It features one or two secondary windings for series or parallel connection. For compliance reasons, 0.35 to 3.2 VA transformers with 2 x 15V and 2 x 18V outputs, as well as all transformers with 2 x 24V outputs, should not have the secondary windings connected in series to maintain VDE 0550 approval. The VB series (0.35-3.2 VA) is inherently short-circuit proof, while the PT series (4.5-22 VA) is protected by an internal PTC unit.
The transformer has a compact design, with a vacuum epoxy resin molded part that conforms to class UL94-V0. It features a two-piece coil made of fiberglass-reinforced polyamide, 100% electrical and breakdown testing, high efficiency, low heating, low inter-turn capacitance, and low noise. Additional mounting points are provided for secure PCB mounting in models of 4.5 VA and above.
