The Boss CP-1X Compressor for guitars is an innovative multiband compressor with an impressive, intelligent operation. The CP-1X preserves the natural character of the instrument as well as the expression and dynamics of individual playing styles. Many compressors flatten the sound or make it undynamic and dull – the Boss CP-1X multiband compressor is the exception. The internal processor analyzes the incoming guitar signal on multiple levels for advanced dynamic control (MDP technology – Multi Dimensional Processing). Control is intuitive through the 4 knobs on the interface, which also includes a gain-reduction indicator.

The strengths of the Boss Compressor lie in its natural compression and great clarity in sound. The digital circuitry also reduces unwanted noise, which is a common issue with compression. Even with 7- and 8-string guitars, the intelligent dynamic control delivers excellent results in the upper frequency range while maintaining the bass response.
