The GameKit is an arcade console with buttons and a large display for the Calliope mini. With the GameKit, children and teenagers can acquire basic programming skills in a playful way and develop their own games. Using the MakeCode Arcade editor, characters, environments, and processes can be programmed, allowing for the creation of both simple and more complex game mechanics – and play them on the GameKit! Additionally, the GameKit can also be programmed in MakeCode with a loaded extension, enabling the display of graphics and measured data. In combination with the integrated sensors and actuators of the Calliope mini, it opens up a variety of possibilities for interaction and expansion of game mechanics. Thus, the GameKit combines technical learning with practical experimentation while simultaneously fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and logical thinking.
