The APS lens addresses the extreme wide-angle range and does quite well. From the medium focal length, the losses at the edges are clear, but can be made bearable by stopping down. Only the extreme corners remain low in contrast, which costs the recommendation. The distortion is only disturbing at the wide-angle position...
