Canon

The 1.4x extender has been specifically designed for the Canon RF lens system and maintains the image quality of the lens as well as high-speed communication with the camera. The RF 1.4x extender is the perfect choice for photography enthusiasts and professionals looking to extend the focal length range of their RF lens. The 1.4x focal length extension is ideal for press, nature, and sports photographers.

The extender features lenses made from high-refractive-index glass and low-dispersion glass. This helps combat field curvature and chromatic aberrations, ensuring excellent image quality. In addition to optimized lens coatings, a three-layer combination lens contributes to the reduction of ghosting by minimizing the number of critical glass-air surfaces as much as possible. The outer surface of the tube is coated with the same white heat-reflective coating as the RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1L IS USM and RF 70-200mm lenses, preventing performance degradation at high temperatures.

Key specifications

Converter type

Bayonet lens mount

A lens mount is an interface — mechanical and often also electrical — between a photographic camera body and a lens. It is confined to cameras where the body allows interchangeable lenses, most usually the single lens reflex type or any movie camera of 16 mm or higher gauge. Lens mounts are also used to connect optical components in instrumentation that may not involve a camera, such as the modular components used in optical laboratory prototyping which join via C-mount or T-mount elements.
