Product details
Jürgen Stein demonstrates that something can be done against xenophobia and shares his own experiences as a refugee child. Jürgen Stein was born in April 1960 in Oldenburg. Both of his parents are refugees; his father had to leave his homeland of Stettin in Pomerania in March 1945. His family managed to flee directly to West Germany. His mother fled with her family from Königsberg in East Prussia in February 1945. Unfortunately, they were unable to escape to the West in time, and for many years they were moved back and forth by the Russian army until they finally succeeded in fleeing to the West. From the many stories told by his parents and relatives, he learned how brutal the war was and how terrible the flight was. Jürgen Stein speaks of his understanding for people who are still fleeing today.
