The Cokin Expert Kit is an excellent introduction to working with Cokin filters. By using Cokin neutral density filters and Cokin gray gradient filters, photographers and filmmakers can influence the light entering the sensor as required. The Cokin Expert Kit is suitable for lens diameters of 49 mm to 96 mm and contains three filters and four adapter rings in the diameters of 67 mm, 72 mm, 77 mm, and 82 mm.

In many outdoor photography or landscape photography situations, the contrast between ground and sky is extreme. If the subject is to be correctly exposed near the ground, the sky may become overexposed, and image information may be lost that cannot be retrieved even during post-processing. If you want the sky to stand out and create a bit of drama in the picture, the foreground will most likely be underexposed. Without gradient filters, photographers and filmmakers are forced to find a compromise that often results in flat, low-contrast images.

With the use of Cokin gradient filters, this problem can be solved easily and quickly. By gradually darkening, the darker parts of the image can be perfectly exposed, while the sky can be darkened using the appropriate gradient filter. Since it is a plug-in system, the gradient filters allow the area to be darkened to be placed simply but precisely where the photographer wants it or where the composition requires it. There are no limits to creativity.

The Cokin Filter Kit can also be used for other applications. The Expert Kit from Cokin contains a filter holder and four adapter rings, as well as three different filters: the ND4 gray filter (N° 153) reduces the incident light by two apertures, the GND8 gradient filter (N° 121) partially reduces the incidence of light by 3 f-stops, while the GND4 filter (N° 121M) provides a gradient darkening of 2 f-stops.
