Galvanic Isolation
The USB 2.0 to serial RS-232 adapter completely decouples the USB and RS-232 connections as well as the USB power supply. This ensures continuous data transmission at different ground potentials, separates any occurring ground and hum loops, and prevents interruptions caused by electromagnetic discharges or surges.

Ferrite Cores
Two ferrite cores on the USB 2.0 cable filter out high-frequency interference signals.
