The Homematic IP switch-measure socket is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and allows for the flexible control of electrical devices remotely, while also monitoring their energy consumption. To operate, the switch-measure socket simply needs to be plugged into a power outlet and added to the Homematic IP system. This compact adapter can be used to control an electric heating device as well as to switch other electrical consumers, such as a floor lamp. If the consumer needs to be turned on or off directly on-site, this can be done using the integrated button on the front of the switch socket. Within the Homematic IP room climate solution, the adapter works seamlessly with the Homematic IP wall thermostat. Therefore, when an electric heating device is used, the switch socket can be utilized to precisely regulate the room temperature.
The integrated measuring device determines energy consumption in the range of 0 to 3680 watts. It offers a measurement resolution of 0.01 watts and a maximum measurement deviation of +/- 0.03 watts. Thanks to its high measurement accuracy, even small consumers and the standby consumption of electrical devices can be conveniently monitored via the app. The total energy consumption is also clearly displayed in the Homematic IP app.
Despite the high switching capacities of up to 3680 watts, the compact adapter does not block surrounding sockets. With a low standby power consumption of less than 0.3 watts, the adapter can remain plugged in without concern.
