The Gitzo Gimbal Fluid Head combines the smoothness and vibration absorption of a fluid head with the balance and range of motion of a traditional gimbal. It is ideal for wildlife photography and birdwatching, even for extensive observations and with heavy equipment. The head supports up to 17.6 lbs and weighs 3 lbs itself. It has a tilt range of +/- 180° and a full pan range of 360°. Both axes feature independent locks for precise control. Utilizing fluid cartridge technology borrowed from the film and video industry, movements are made smooth and stable. The Whip-Pan system allows for control over the flow rate, providing precise control and maneuverability when tracking at high speeds. The Whip-Pan automatically applies friction without affecting fluid rotation on the pan axis, resulting in realistic motion dynamics without jolts or vibrations. This system also regulates fluidity based on the rotation and tilt speeds for smooth control, whether performing slow or fast turns.
