Product details

The Hoya 52 mm W12 Umber Warming Color Conversion Multicoated Glass Filter is a professional photographic accessory designed to adjust the color temperature by 2200 Kelvin with a +120 Mired shift, producing a rich amber tone. This filter effectively counteracts blue color casts, making it particularly suitable for outdoor daylight photography with tungsten-balanced films, where it delivers natural, warm-looking results. For indoor shots with 5500 K light sources such as flash units or studio strobes, it supports accurate color reproduction. The filter is made from multicoated optical glass, which minimizes reflections, glare, halos, and ghosting while ensuring an average light transmission of over 97 percent for optimal image quality. With a diameter of 52 mm, this warming filter provides stronger color correction than the W10 model, resulting in a more neutral color balance with standard tungsten films. Its robust glass construction and multilayer technology make it compatible with modern multicoated lenses and enhance performance in various shooting situations, including shadows, tungsten lighting environments, and portrait photography, where a warm, natural color reproduction is desired.
