The product is designed to protect against pulse surges for Ethernet appliances with throughputs of up to 1 Gb/s. The AXON Net Protectors work with modems, routers, network cards, and all other Ethernet network equipment that use twisted pair cable terminated with an RJ45 plug. The fast semiconductor components used in the device eliminate the effects of pulse surges emerging between each pair of wires in the 4-pair cable, and the surge energy is discharged to the earth through the PE wire. The devices are available in two versions. The AXON Net Protector has a plastic housing and is designed for installation in less demanding conditions. The AXON Net Protector PROFESSIONAL features a metal housing that is resistant to mechanical damage, and along with shielded RJ45 jacks, it provides shielding for the entire protection system.
