For most people, the values and statements of spiritual individuals seem unreal, vague, unprovable, suspect, dangerous, ridiculous, and at best, crazy. Why? Because they must operate within the confines of matter and measurable, concrete results. This is especially true for those at the level of consciousness characterized by logic, intellect, and science. However, why do individuals with a pronounced spiritual awareness, such as Jesus Christ and Buddha Gautama, have such a lasting and significant impact on humanity? The answer is: Because they themselves became the truth. Anyone who has heard or, better yet, experienced something about "enlightenment" will never settle for anything less. Anyone who has contemplated their true nature and that of the world will have to engage with it fundamentally.
