The RG550 Genesis is a reissue of the original 1987 RG550 model, made in Japan. Features that raise the price, such as the case and DiMarzio pickups, have been stripped away, leaving only the essential components.

The 17mm thickness at the nut and 19mm thickness at the 12th fret are some technical details of the coveted profile that can be found only in this neck. The original Edge tremolo bridge is superior in its tuning stability, intonation adjustments, and playing comfort. The combinations of Ibanez V7, S1, and V8 pickups provide the full range of sound from crystal-clear clean tones to the heaviest distortion and everything in between.
