This helps avoid unwanted noises such as footfall or low-frequency ambient sounds in your recordings. The shock mount is made of metal, with the free-swinging microphone basket secured by elastic bands. The package includes four interchangeable threads and a replacement rubber band. To insert a microphone into the shock mount, the microphone is placed from above into the basket, and the appropriate thread is screwed onto the microphone from below. The felt ring on the shock mount protects your microphone from scratches and dents. The microphone shock mount features a 5/8 inch thread for mounting on a stand and can be tilted 180 degrees. A reducer thread from 5/8 to 3/8 inch is included.
