The Leofoto video head is a compact tripod head designed for discerning birdwatchers and nature filmmakers. The video tripod head features a 360° rotatable panoramic plate for horizontal movement and a 90° rotatable axis for vertical adjustments. It can be combined with any tripod that has a 3/8-inch tripod screw. The ideal pairing is with a tripod that has a leveling base (half bowl). With the 280-millimeter long control arm, you can achieve smooth shots or easily follow a moving subject. The control arm can be mounted either for top access or so that you can operate the handle from below. The video tripod head is made of aluminum and is black anodized to ensure high durability. The quick-release plate is secured according to the Arca-Swiss standard. With the Leofoto BV-5L, you release the quick-release plate using a clamping lever. For the metal parts, Leofoto uses high-quality 6061-T6 aluminum alloy with magnesium and silicon as alloying components. This corrosion-resistant material is characterized by high strength and good toughness, with a yield strength comparable to structural steel.
