The remote features a side rotary knob and a joystick that resemble those on the gimbal handle. With these, you can navigate through the gimbal's menu system, select modes, control the pan/tilt/roll functions of the gimbal, and view settings on the integrated LCD screen. There is a 1/4"-20 thread on the bottom of the remote for attaching to an optional handle, tripod, or other mounting options.
