Nintendo characters can now come to life in many new ways as amiibo figures. They are interactive figures that can communicate with specially designed games that support amiibo compatibility by simply touching the Wii U GamePad.

• amiibo can interact with amiibo-compatible games when the player touches them with the Wii U GamePad, reading data into games and storing data in the figure.
• In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, players can fight with or against their own amiibo figures and level them up. They can then bring them to another Wii U console to show how they have trained and customized their own amiibo figures.
• Different amiibo-compatible games use amiibo in various ways. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be the first game to utilize amiibo. Games like Mario Party 10, Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and Yoshi's Woolly World are also expected to support amiibo.
