The life of a Spriggan is just one of many professions that have emerged in the Calvard Republic. Whether as a detective, negotiator, or bounty hunter, Van Arkride takes on jobs that legitimate sources cannot accept. Whether it’s assignments best kept out of the public eye or even requests from a criminal organization in the underworld: as long as he gets paid, he accepts almost any job that comes his way.

The year is S.1208. A noble young lady in the uniform of a prestigious academy visits a rundown apartment building in the old town district of Edith, the capital of the nation. With a dignified expression, she gazes at the sign on the door in front of her. It reads: 'ARKRIDE Solutions Office: Complicated Matters Only'.
