The Oasis® Humidifier provides the instrument with the necessary moisture, preventing the wood from drying out and potentially cracking. This humidifier comes pre-filled with Humigel® crystals, which can absorb up to 400 times their own weight in water. They convert it into a gel, ensuring that no leaking water can damage the instrument. The moisture is released into the surrounding area through a fabric tube. Fresh water should be added once a week. The tube indicates when this is necessary by contracting and bending. The manufacturer recommends using only distilled water, as tap water can lead to clogs in the humidifier. The Oasis® OH-14 Plus+ Humidifier features two strong neodymium magnets, allowing it to be secured to a clip or metal strip (both included) inside a case. Compared to the Oasis® OH-6, the OH-14 Plus+ has a more permeable fabric tube, providing up to 50% more moisture. This makes it particularly suitable for very dry environments, requiring fresh water more frequently.
