Neutral density filters, also known as gray or ND filters, extend exposure time and reduce the amount of light in very bright conditions, preventing overexposure. Additionally, the filter improves the color saturation of the image, making it clearer and more vibrant. Special effects, such as water mist or light trails at night, can also be achieved with the filter. The ND8 filter is used on partly cloudy to slightly sunny days and reduces the shutter speed by 3 stops. The ND16 filter is used in very bright environments, such as in the desert or on snow, and reduces the shutter speed by 4 stops.
