PCB terminal blocks SKEDD with a 5.0 mm pitch from Phoenix Contact are a series of one-piece PCB mount connectors. These 5.0mm pitch PCB terminal blocks feature SKEDD technology, which uses plug-in spring contacts designed to fit perfectly into PCB holes. No soldering or press fitting is required, saving valuable time and eliminating the need for special tools and machinery during attachment. Cables and wires can be plugged directly into the board via the terminal block, eliminating the need for a pin socket. This makes these PCB terminal blocks excellent for applications where space is limited. The connectors also feature a locking mechanism between the housing and the PCB, ensuring a secure, vibration-resistant connection in harsh working environments. The terminal blocks in this SDC 2.5 series have a 2.5-mm² nominal wire size and a rated current capacity of 12 A.
Features and benefits include cost savings due to connectors made from one part, no need for socket bases or contact parts, and no soldering or interference fit which means no need for special tools or machines. They are space-saving with fewer components on PCBs, have a longer PCB life as thermal processing is omitted, and utilize "green" technology as SKEDD components can be easily removed from the PCB, making them easier to recycle.
These connectors can be used in a wide range of applications, including various industries such as automotive, industrial electronics, consumer electronics, mechanical engineering, control cabinets, battery tools, household appliances, solar energy, and medical systems.
