As it is a laser printer, it is much more versatile, so as long as you have proper "laser compatible" media, you should have no issues. I have had Canon printers for decades ... Let's not forget that they actually make printers for others as well, and it just gets rebranded ... As for this specific model, the only reason `I ordered it, is because I have the identical one in Thailand, for about 6 months, and it has been working perfectly fine. Sorry you've had such bad experience with Canon ... Let's hope I didn't jinx myself !!

The cloud services on this printer are all optional, and you even need to configure them to use them. So no worries for standard use. You can even configure the touch panel with the icons you want and delete the unwanted ones. As far as the printer is concerned, it's very fast and prints well. Its scanner is double-sided and also of high quality. Absolutely a bargain for the price.
