That's not so bad. Of course it is a false statement, but the resolution of 100 microns is finer than 400. Here the distance of micrometres between two mesh points in the printing grid is described. So you can't really talk about a deception here.

Hi Tacheles, nice idea! I've had the printer for a few weeks - and I'm a bit disillusioned. Unfortunately, 'just print something nice' is not possible. You have to invest a lot of time in calibration, material properties, flow, printing temperatures and speeds. In short: beautiful print results are definitely possible, but they require a lot of experience and 'try and error'. I use the cloud version of SketchUp. With it, circles and polygons can be 'drawn in depth' and intersected. You can actually create any geometric shapes with it. Figures à la Warcraft are certainly not feasible with it. If you buy this printer, please contact me again and I will send you the right videos for the calibration ;-)

Yes, there are several ways. Creality has the Crealtiy Smart Kit and the Creality Sonic Pad, which also speeds up printing. There are also options for geeks, such as a Raspebery PI with an Octopi image (that's what I use and it works great).

First of all, you should not move the print head, as this can cause damage to the machine! Before you move the printhead manually - no matter in which direction - you must disconnect the power supply to the motors or switch them off. You can do this in the menu item "disable steppers". Only then can you move the printhead. Now to your question: can the print head otherwise move "automatically" in all directions (were all measuring points approached during calibration?) Did you assemble everything correctly? Does the printer make any unusual noises? If everything is OK, you should try it with another SD card, you never know. And if nothing helps, get in touch with Creality's support, they'll be able to help you.

Is the manual in German?

No, the "manual" is only available in English and Chinese. However, I would rather recommend a set-up video on Youtube, as the "manual" is more of a leaflet, which in my opinion is not sufficient to put the unit into operation (even if you know English).

Does the printer need to be assembled?

I have just assembled it. There are 9 screws to tighten and 4 plugs to plug in, that's all. Easier than Ikea, I would have said, but the instructions are printed a bit too small for my taste.
