Do I need a specific adapter for this docking station or is a power cable sufficient?

Hi, One of the answers ander this product says that it does not require adapter to be used in Switzerland. My instance came only with EU power cable. Is it a mistake?

I am looking for a docking station similar to this one but for my Lenovo E580. However, I would like to dock the notebook closed and then continue working on the external monitor. However, with the docking boxes I see from Lenovo, the notebook is always open when docking and that bothers me.
