Hello. My Galaxy S9 is in a silicone case (back only) and charges without problems. In the shop I have a charging station from another manufacturer (but also QI standard). My S9 also charges there without any problems. I also charge an iPhone 8 there, which is in a synthetic leather case that has 6 button magnets on the back that are about the size of a 5-centimetre button. Even this iPhone charges without problems. So the induction goes between the magnets. So I would argue that the Samsung charging station should work without any problems. The fact that the iPhoneX mentioned above charges slowly may also have to do with the charging adapter connected. For example, the original Apple adapter only has an output of 5V/1.0A, which is not enough for fast-charging and that is probably why it takes so long.

Wireless charging always takes longer than charging via cable. A maximum of 1A can be output, regardless of whether Fast Charge is 9V or Normal Charge 5V. Via cable you charge with Fast Charge with 9V at 1.67A and Normal Charge 5V at 2A.

I don't know the definitive answer, but the product is designed to charge a battery. The effects should therefore be minimal, if any. You would have to make a daily comparison over a period of at least 1-2 years and compare it with a normal charger to find out the corresponding values.
