There is no official way because the companies do not want to be all transparent. You have to find statements of the 3 companies. Because of the WD Red SMR "scandal", heise (de) did some more research and asked Toshiba and Seagate. They said that their NAS HDD's do not use SMT. read here, in the section "update": https://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Manche-WD-Red-Festplatten-fuer-NAS-verursachen-Probleme-4703116.html That means of the dedicated NAS Hard Drives there are only these Disks using SMR: WD Red WD20EFAX WD Red WD40EFAX WD Red WD60EFAX me too, I've ordered a WD 4TB and have returned it now (it was within 30 days after purchase).
With these disks there are hardly any failures, and you will probably do a Raid 1 if a disk should really fail! LG Gerhard
SSDs are always faster, that's their big advantage. Such HDDs are mainly needed for large amounts of data. Here the max. The maximum speed of 7200 RPM is more important here. But yes, 750 MB/s is possible if the other components fit. Mine run at about 720 MB/s in the reader.
I have 5 of these HD's installed as Raid 6 in a DS1517+, firmware SC61, DSM 3.2.3-25426 update 2. Works flawlessly since 07/19
I don't think Digitec will have a workaround for this. If it's really that important to you, I would just order from two different retailers and hope.
eher für NAS perfekt geeignet.Optimized for NAS with AgileArray.AgileArray is built for dual-plane balancing and RAID optimization in multi-bay environments with the most advanced power management possible. High performance means no lag times or downtime for users during high traffic time for the NAS. Seagate leads the competition with the highest performance in NAS-class drives.1
By the way, I don't expect an answer from you. It will anyway be in the style of: the 60 pieces were sold out ...
Unfortunately, the quantities offered are already gone.
No, maximum 20 TB, see "The My Book™ Duo offers up to 20 TB2 of storage capacity - on just one cable." https://www.wd.com/content/dam/wdc/website/downloadable_assets/deu/product_overview/4178-707314.pdf
Theoretically: YES. The Festplatt still has a normal I/O. But an indirect "disadvantage" is the price. Why should one install such a hard drive?
sollte passen gemäss diesem link: https://www.synology.com/de-de/compatibility?search_by=products&model=DS1515%2B&category=hdds&filter_brand=Seagate&filter_size=14TB&p=1
