What's the point? Depending on the camera, you only have 10MP instead of 24MP. Sure, you can do that if you don't want to use the whole sensor. But then why buy a full-frame camera? For full frame there is the Tamron 28-200mm.
Yes, if you really want to do macros, you should buy a macro lens. A soup zoom like this is only suitable to a limited extent.
