    Replaces my Gopro hero 8

The camera makes a great impression. It is easy to use and takes great photos and videos. Best of all, it doesn't crash like my Gopro Hero 8 (from day 1).
I can recommend this camera with a clear conscience. I have given
up on Gopro because every year I read about the same problems.
DJI also makes some great drones😉

    Pro

    • No crashing like with Gopro
    • Battery lasts 20min longer than Gopro
    • Picture quality
    • Touchscreen on both sides top
    • 3 batteries included in the adventure package
    • High quality workmanship
    • Spare lens included
    • Simple operation
    • Magnetic holder

A great camera for capturing my walks.

I went out this weekend to do a first test and here's what I can say about it.

Superb images and a built-in microphone that's perfect for capturing the atmosphere of the undergrowth.

    About the accessory kit:
    - The pole
supplied in the accessory kit is a good length and has a screw thread on the back to attach a mini tripod if you want to put the camera down to film from further away.
The mini tripod isn't included, but as I already had one, no worries.
    - The charging case and three batteries aren't too much to ask for if you want to film for a whole day without having to worry about recharging.
    - I was able to attach one to the pole and the other to the backpack strap, and it's super easy to switch from one to the other.

For hiking, I bought the following additional accessories:
    - The "Mic2" external microphone because if you want to film yourself with the camera further away from you, as soon as you move away the recording of the track by the internal microphone decreases rapidly whereas with the external microphone it's perfect.
    - The "Rucksack strap holder", which allows you to attach the camera to film the route while keeping your hands free.

    The applications
    - DJI Mimo (to be installed on your phone or tablet), is really cool because you can use it to view your rushes or to remotely control the camera when you're away, plus lots of other options.
    - Editing application: I didn't install it as I already have everything I need on my laptop.

In conclusion, for the moment everything is running smoothly and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Perfect, but be sure to see comparison videos with osmo action 2 and 3

Unless you are really sure if it’s advantage of battery life and certain key advantages, perhaps it’s better choice to upgrade to osmo action 2 or 3 as they all have exact same feature set that matters for capturing daily family documentary purpose. For other purpose, do your research.

Product by itself is very very good. No negatives that I could think of so far ( except for wish to have higher res already )

    Pro

    • Battery life
    • Battery case
    • Stabilisation
    • Log profile

    Contra

    • Almost same feature set as before versions

    A horror for activation

When you buy a DJI Osmo Action 4, you have to bear in mind that you're going to spend a considerable amount of time activating it.
I had the very bad experience of setting off to a desert island, with no network, to go diving
with this DJI Osmo Action 4.
I didn't know that you had to activate the device via the internet before you could use it. You're allowed to turn the DJI Osmo Action 4 on 5 times before it locks up until you activate it.
To activate it you need to download an apk file (android) which is not available on the Play Store, then you need to set your phone's permissions to install this apk file. I had the same problem with the DJI application for the Mavic drone. It seems that DJI is not welcome in the Play Store.
Then you still have to create a DJI account on their website.
So that's it, even though the DJI Osmo Action 4 is apparently better for diving than the Go Pro, this is the last time I'll be buying a DJI camera.
