Perfect home cinema for this price

First, I have to tell that I really love this machine, I have already watched about 20 movies with it in two weeks. I bought it for home cinema which I was dreaming about since a while. A lot of people told me to think twice and I would hate it because beamers suck, but either they picked one that don’t match their needs or they expected a HD screen TV quality from a beamer. So, here I share some general thoughts too.
Before buying this or any other beamers, you have to know that this technology is not a flat screen TV. This is a different technology, and has limitations. One limitation is, that such strong lights need cooling, so a strong beamer would always come with some noise or high price. The noise of this piece is totally acceptable for me.
The other thing is that colors might need some adjusting for each movie (and also the room might need to be darkened). The beamer might have different "movie feeling" than a screen. E.g. dark and contrastless scenes may look a bit poor, like big shadows on the wall, while on computer screen they are sort of acceptable. It can be fixed by fine tuning the adjustments, but, at least in this price category probably you would run into cases when you feel that a given movie is not matching to beamer.
Before choosing this machine I did a research and I knew my needs. I knew I do not need super high (like 4k) resolution, but I need over 3000 lumen of light source. Do not go for this one if you need super high resolution. The lumen number is also very important when choosing beamer, because overshooting the light can be just as bad as underestimating. I simply project on a white wall, maybe a proper screen would further increase the experience.
So all in all, if you know that beamers come with limitations and it’s okay for you (in exchange you get real cinema feeling), then this piece offers a great value for this price.
Note: This beamer (I think) comes with a built-in speaker which I have not tried, thus not reviewed.

    Pro

    • Easy to set up
    • Real cinema feeling
    • Good price:value ratio

    Contra

    • Only VGA (and no HDMI) cable included.
    • Probably there will be some difficulties finding the proper settings for dark, "noir" movies/scenes.
    • If you are into oversaturated colors then beamer is probably not for you.
